This Saturday 11th September, we are organising a weightlifting event in partnership with Northern Weightlifting and Unique Fitness North East to help raise awareness of homeless veterans and essential funds for the charity.
Five weightlifting clubs from Manchester, Sheffield, Wakefield and the North East have been invited to send ten lifters each to compete which means there will be 50 people in total competing on the day.
There will be a children’s lifting competition in the morning followed by the adults and masters in the afternoon. Those competing will include World, European, British and Northern weightlifters who will compete at different weights.
The event will be held at Albemarle Barracks in Northumberland and we would like to thank the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery for very kindly hosting the event.
The free event starts at 10am and refreshments will be available for spectators throughout the day. Any donations or money raised from refreshments will all be donated to Launchpad.
